Tempe Zero Waste Day April 28!

Tempe Zero Waste Day April 28!

The City of Tempe offers four Zero Waste Days each year and the next is Saturday, April 28th from 7 am to 1 pm at the Tempe Fire Training Facility at 1340 E. University Drive.

Have you been wondering how to responsibly dispose of items like paint, leftover building materials, appliances, and TVs?  Well, the slogan for Zero Waste day is “We Take it Where it Goes”.   Waste collected can be household hazardous wastes, electronics, scrap metal, plastic bags, paper, styrofoam, building materials, tires, clothing, furniture and much more!   For a full list of items accepted, view the city’s informative flyer.

In addition to this event’s responsible waste collection, you can bring in items to help those in need throughout the community!  Donated bikes will be donated to Gilliand Middle’s ‘Recycle-a-Bicycle’ program, children’s car seats will be donated to Safe Kids Maricopa County and non-perishable, unopened food items will be donated to Tempe Community Action Agency.

Make it a zero-waste, giveback Saturday on April 28th!
